Breaking the Silence Empty Breaking the Silence

Post by Bill Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:36 pm

It has been very quiet around here. Perhaps we could generate more traffic if we all made a point of posting something, a question, a show n tell, or a comment, opinion, etc. Make an extra effort to do this. That would hopefully spark some interest, and replies, which in turn would liven up the Forum.
And, if each of us got one new member, we would double the size of the Forum. Takers?

Now that I got my fancy new computer I will definitely be posting more...that is if my job allows me to. I'm still on 24/7 on call. Now I have to take hundreds of new pictures again though.

I'm in! I have some new stuff and have intended to post some of my older stuff that is not on this forum. Just haven't managed to find the time...it's about time to correct that.

Have asked some fellow collectors here to take a look.
Hopefully some of them will join.

Thing is, whenever someone posts an item out of their collection and no one replies to it, that's quite discouraging. That way, the forum isn't really helping people to post more. There are so many threads in which people have shown items, wrote down the story with it, yet no one replied. If that would change, people would probably post more.

I must apologize for my lack of contributions of late. I am currently out of the country and do not have access to most of collection photos, or any of my library.

As my new position is much more demanding than previous, my spare time has been cut by about 50%. I have to say that I certainly miss the military show circuit much more this time than last. My poor collection is suffering greatly in my absence.

    Hi Mike,
I believe it was Marway that was at the Etobicoke show. They had a Boer war grouping, tunic, trousers and coat, had it priced at $3200. They said they would have it at this show you are attending.
If you or anyone else has a chance and they would allow some pics, that would make a nice little thread on something you don't see very often.

    Hello Jeff.....

That sounds good and at a good price..... But to tell the truth I already have a full uniform to a Captain, it is hard to read the name that was written in ink on the inside (quite faded but think I cann make out Fall or Falls) but can make out the unit SAC...... So doing a bit of detective work I can find a Captain Perry Fall..... The neat thing is he has the ribbon bar for The Northwest Rebellion Medal 1885 and the QSA...... He is also entitled to a KSA..... I compared it to the Sam Steele uniform when we had it out and it matches perfectly even down to the buttons..... I have the Jacket, Pants, Suspenders and Boots..... Wish I had the medals......

    Hi Mike,
