The Thompson Submachine Gun

I haven't seen one of these posted on the forum yet so i thought i'd share

I always wanted one of these.

ive often wondered if any of its history could be obtained by the numbers stamped on the side but i suspect that information is long gone..this is the first dewat that i found and got me into collecting more than just bayonets from then on

You have posted a few firearms I would truely like to have in my collection. The problem I have is deacts. I just cant justify the cost for a hink of metal and wood.

Having said this, my Bren is a deact, of course, but I love it.

I guess it is my way of staying more true to my core collecting of medals.

I agree,dewats can get expensive but so can any working military firearm which i collect as well..every spring it seems everything related to the hobby tends to jump in price from the year before..unfortunately for gun collectors with no prohib license this is the only way to obtain an example..what really burns me the most is people who have a restricted that will buy a handgun to simply have it deactivated so they can sell it for double of what it would sell for working..because anyone can purchase a dewat there is always more of a demand for them in collecting circles..i have met a few worms that do this and make substantial profit from it..as far as collecting goes i too have medals but usually only buy them as part of a grouping..im into anything Canadian or German from both wars so my collection is all over the map...but because of that im always finding something to add context to what ive already found,so when i go to a show looking for something specific and dont find it im never disappointed caus i always find something else i didnt think id find that day..
