No, 2 CIB was in 1 Canadian Infantry Division. In 4 Canadian Armoured Division, it was 4 Canadian Armoured Brigade and 10 Canadian Infantry Bde. The senior brigade in a division wore the green bar, while the second or in the case of an armoured division junior brigade wore a red bar. (Perhaps this is what you mean by 2nd Brigade?)

    Thanks Bill.

And I have a question. I'm looking for someone that makes quality Canadian WW2 replica dog tags.

This is my latest add to the collection. It's likely that this soldier served in the surrounding area of my living place.

Interesting ribband bar combination on that Occupation Force BD, no CVSM but both an Italian and a France-Germany Star...?

Yes it is. Could it be he was first with a regiment of the 1st or 5th Inf. Div. and later transferred to the SDG?

I have a name from the dealer, but it's not written in the jacket. Did already my research, but it seems his records are destroyed.

Collection Michael (NL) - Page 2 Empty Service Records

I don't think service records get destroyed. Without a name which is physically attached to the uniform, ie written in it, you a potentially chasing a wrong lead.

I have made a few tweaks. And there are 2 ongoing projects. One is almost finished. A NNSH named set. BD, Kilt and head gear. He transferred from the QOR in '45 to join the NNSH pipes and drums.
Still wanted: QOR and HLI of C BD.

Apart from collecting, which means nothing if you don't care about the history, I've started a website about the fallen that lay buried at the Adegem Canadian War Cemetery. Be my guest: http://commonwealth-adegem.com

edit: removed RDLC image. BD not longer in my collection.

On the left side my latest project. A named bd and kilt by Pte. Robert Vince LAFFERTY. He was with the Queen's Own Rifles but transferred to the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in 1945. There he joined the B.H.Q. Pipe Band. He claims to be at Juno Beach on D-Day, but the records I was able to see show that he landed there on September 6, 1944. He discharged on July 16, 1946 to return into civil live. He died on April 18, 2014. I'm proud to have this set in my collection.
