Recent finds. May not be on here as much as I like, still very sick. Hopefully will get cured before winter.  Brian

I cleaned up the silver badges. Armoured car is a really nice officers set. Anyone have a ballpark figure for what they sell for? Not for sale but I just put a rough value in my catalogue. The other pin has me stumped. Has military style lugs on it. Fluer de lis with what looks like grape vine above it. Any ideas? Cheers Brian

Brian, are the 2nd Armoured Car bi-metal or sterling? Or plated?

Cap badge marked W. Scully Ltd Montreal. No other markings so that would likely indicate plating? There is a hint of brass in some deeper pockets. No marks at all on the collars. Still a beautiful set. Cheers Brian

All from a fellow whose dad was in the 8threcce. He is looking to se if he has any more. Any idea on value? Just for my catalogue. Also any ideas on the brooch. Must have some kind of military connection with those lug fasteners. Cheers Brian

Brian, was it possible he was in the 12 Man Dragoons at some point? The 12 Man Drag were mobilized from three units, the Manitoba Mounted Rifles, 2nd Armoured Car, and 12 Man Drag. The badges are consistent with service in the 2nd Armd Car which carry over into the 12 Man Drag. Note the 12 D 2 Cdn Corps badges.

    Hello Brian

Is the shoulder board white piped? if so it would he for the Herman Goering regiment, the brass buckle is early, I am not sure without looking exactly what it is, but its pre war german I believe, to tell anything about the iron cross would need to see some better pics, there is a ww2 german naval chevron there, trade patch,

Of course the 8th badge caught my attention, to have some background on the group is what makes it interesting for me

    thanks

Fellow was in the Manitoba Dragoons prior to the 8th recce.
Shoulder age darkened? Appears more silver than white. Will try to make better pics when I can. Cheers Brian

I took a pic with a buckle I had on a belt. Thought they were the same but the eagle is different. I thought it was early SA? The Luftwaffe buckle is a bit more crude, maybe late war. Iron cross is well worn and a nice addition. Cheers Brian

Yes an SA buckle from the group Brian, from what you mention about the shoulder board I believe it is HG regiment, the piping around the edge is rayon, so gives a silver like appearance IMO
