RCOC Pin

More of a find then a new acquisition as I found this pin when I was digging through a bag of badges. The insignia in the bag was all was all post-WWII but this pin has me baffled.

Ed,

I believe these were worn as ID by civilians who worked in the camp. The space in the middle would have held an ID photo.

I think 42 COR stands for "42 Camp Ordnance Railhead"... this is one of the units that formed #2 Service Battalion in 1968..

That makes sense as the bag of badges that the pin is in came from a retired military fellow in Petawawa.

I believe 42 COR refers to 42 Central Ordnance Railhead. The "camp" is part of the title of what is now CFB Petawawa. 'Way back, all army bases were camps, so in this case the badge is from Camp Petawawa. The Ordnance Corps had numbered CORs all across the country. In Wainwright, where I spent time as a PMQ brat, it was 45 COR. I remember that because they had a killer baseball team and I used to root for them. <grin>
