Thought we should have a thread to post pictures of our pets.  Here are my two pests...I mean pets, Smokey and Casper.  Smokey is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. I've had him since he was five weeks old, he will be 14 years old next April.  The pics don't lie, he's a chubby-butt.

Casper is a purebred Manx that I got from a rescue society.  He was rescued after witnesses saw him being pitched out the window of a car doing highway speed.  He faired OK but has scars on his jaw and lip. Also two of his paws are a bit buggered up.  It doesn't seem to slow him down, he is a little tornado.

Merlin and Rosie after a long day of medal hunting.......

Both found at local SPCA, Merlin after he had been beaten and jaw broken.....

I should say Rosie on left and Merlin on the right.......

censored, if I could get my hands on some of these twits who get a charge out of abusing animals...POW!...right to the moon!

Nice kitties! They seem pretty content with each other. Smokey and Casper have been together for almost 2 years now and they still hate each other.

Yeah, my wife figures since we are on 10 acres, we may as well fill it up with animals. She is a real animal lover for sure. Myself, I like my dogs but that's it. Little Bast**d as I call him is my 19 year old daughters dog. I suppose he is cute enough, being a chiawawa, jack russel terrier mix, but dang it hes a hand full. with his little tiny apple head, god had a choice, brains or eyes, he chose eyes.

Smokey passed away July 6, 2013 at 16 years, 2 months...it has been weird with no shadow for almost the past year. A few days ago I welcomed this little boy into the home. His name is Digger.

An update to this long list,
Angel is no longer with us, we lost her a couple years ago after she tangled with something much tougher than she was,
Doc passed away due to complications due to diabetes,
Misty, Peggy, Fluffy, and Hazel have all gone to that great litterbox in the sky.
Zorro, long since given away, along with Itsy Bitzy the pony, and mini the cow.
the rodents are gone as are the fish.

We still have a house full of damned animals and now 25 acres for the multiple horses.

I thought the title of this forum was "Canadian Military Collectors" ?

If you want to discuss your pets why don't you join a pets forum?

I make this post without malice but such posts do little to bring in new members and this forum is struggling as it is.

Why not post something from your collection and get a discussion going on that?

Since CMCF is a forum started by me, I don't have to go anywhere. Don't like this thread, don't look.

    Carry on

I am going to agree with Dale on this, these posts are a good way to get to know other members and if other members don't want to read them they don't have to.
I could understand if the posts were in the WWII weapons section or some thing.

This is the off topic section, so anything (within reason) can be posted. I agree its a great way to get to know other members, after all there is more to all of us than just military collecting.
Dale, I love the look of your dog...what breed?

Ed, do you also not think your over reacting? Dale is correct, if you don't like something posted in the off topic area of the forum, you don't gave to read it or comment on it. A pet thread is very tame yo things I've seen on other forums.
This may not be a very active forum but it's no more struggling than other Canadian only forums and to try and discourage any participation is counter productive as well. Maybe guys don't have anything new to add militaria wise but still want to interact with others. Many of us have gotten to know each other on these forums and become friends through them. An off topic area is not a bad thing at all.
    Hopefully you'll reconsider!

Jeff, as I read your post, I was reminded of the Collage Cuties topic on a long since self imploded site.

I would love to share some of the items I have found in my collection lately, but I am still without internet access, other than my phone

Little does RCN realize, but my pup has a military connection with his name Members Pets 1096635026

Bottom line is that I do not have a wife or kids, albeit that is my choice. I trust my pets more than MOST(not all) humans. My pets are my life, even more than any inanimate object from my collection, and I would happily give it all up for their well being.

Now, let`s name a forum that isn`t struggling these days...unless it is selling memberships or packages to access the full forum. I refuse to do that, it is not fair to struggling collectors out there. If you are morally decent enough to go with the flow and enjoy the forum for what it is, then you are welcome here anytime. I think we have a good base of knowledge here, I have no complaints.

I also want to add that I never intended to compete with any other forums out there, so this ''struggling forum'' business that RCN mentioned is a moot point to me.

Since the start of CMCF, the onus of keeping this forum online has survived on my financial input. The host is free, but there are costs to keep advertising popups hidden, and to keep the domain name valid. I will also be laying down a significant amount of money as soon as I can get the go ahead to move to a better host. Free forums have you by the balls if you intend to move. The forum does need to move to a better host regardless, so I will do that as soon as I can. Just please, be patient.
