Bear skin hat ID?

Hey guys,
My quest for a bear skin continues.....came across this one today and I'm wondering the age.
Its in good condition, the metal loop on the hackle is broken and the chin chain is missing the leather strap but otherwise good condition.
The framing is willow or wicker and the liner is a black leather with I think black painted grommets on the fingers. There are no other markings.
The hackle is yellow and it sits on the left side of the hat......would this be a Guard regiment? The owner says Lancashire Fusiliers but wouldn't that be a right side yellow hackle?
I'm thinking it may be from the 1960's or 70's based on construction but I'm not sure. Anyone have a better idea on era for this one?
Also is the number on the liner a regimental number?

I bought it, I think it is smaller than the normal bear skins. I'll take some photo's tomorrow and try to show the size.
Has anyone got one they can share pics of? Particularly how the hackle and chin chain attach?

Heres some more pics. I took the pic beside the racoon skin cap I recently acquired to give some scale. As you can see it is a small bear skin cap. I found three vent holes along the top at the back and one brass ring about 2/3's of the way up on the left hand side to presumably attach the hackle?
There is one other metal attachment where the liner meets the rim of the hat but it doesn't look original, presumably to hold the chin chain.
I also found written on the underside of the liner the same service number that is sewn onto one of the fingers of the liner as seen in the pics before.

I'm obviously missing something here, lol, like a way to attach the hackle and the chin chain. Anyone own one or is familiar with these?

Very nice! Looks like a Guards hat. I can ask my buddy in Red Deer...he has a few of these.

Kind of reminds me of my hair back in the 80's

Jeff I would love to help but I know absolutely nothing about these hats. I do find them interesting but always way outside my collecting department.

Dale, that would be awesome if you can talk to your buddy. I've been having no luck with info about these. LMAO, I had the same hair in the 80's.

Cliff, you know my collecting is focus.......I have none.....pick up what I find and what I like the looks of! LOL, and its gotta have the WOW factor in the displays I do.

the number looks like a sin number but the hat looks older although these where worn until they where of no use so probably one of the guards units
