    Hey guys,
Have had these for awhile but thought I would post them here for the first time.
A WWII pair of US jump boots used by a member of the 1st Can Para's. I came across some 1st Can Para stuff a couple of years ago from a vet, this was among those items.

    Hi,

As you probably know, General Gale CO 6th Airborne Division, forbidded to the 1st Canadian Batt to wear the Corcoran boots in Mid-May 1944 because the King George VI and the Queen had to visit the 6th AB.
Gale said: "You're in British Army, in a British division, so you don't have the right to wear those Yankees boots." All the Canadians wore the regular ammo boots and gaiters since that day.
A veteran told me, all the guys in his stick (around 18) took the boots under their oversmocks. When they were in the air, they took off the boots and gaiters and threw them from the gate and they put on their Us Jumpboots.
So at least 18 Canadian Paratroopers wore Us Jumpboots on D-Day.
